Hace unos días, tuve el placer de participar en la Feria del Libro de Telde en el que se presentó el último libro ilustrado por mí y escrito por Blanca Hermenegildo. El libro, titulado 'Martina quiere crecer' y publicado por la editorial Babidibú, tuvo una gran acogida entre el púbico general. Desde aquí quiero dar las gracias a todos/as los/las que se pasaron por allí a apoyar nuestro trabajo. Comparto algunos de los maravillosos momentos vividos esos días en las imágenes de arriba.
A few days ago, I had the pleasure of participating in the Telde Book Fair, where I presented my latest illustrated book, written by Blanca Hermenegildo. The book, titled 'Martina Wants to Grow Up' and published by Babidibú, was very well received by the public. I want to thank everyone who came to support our work. I'm sharing some of the wonderful moments from those days in the photos above.
El pasado mes de diciembre de 2020, tuvo lugar la presentación telemática del libro 'El Secreto tras tu Pantalla', el cual he tenido el gusto de ilustrar. Su texto, escrito por Abril Ronsisvalle Toniguzzo, fue el ganador de la IX Edición del Concurso Cuentos Solidarios, convocado por la Fundación Mapfre Guanarteme y la ULPGC. Este libro nos cuenta la historia de Luis o Itsmy, un personaje muy peculiar que es el responsable de hacernos llegar todos los mensajes e e-mails que enviamos. El cuento está disponible en dos ediciones bilingües: español-inglés y español-francés. Todo lo recaudado con su venta, irá dirigido íntegramente a la Cruz Roja, y está disponible para su venta en librerías y en la Fundación Mapfre Guanarteme. Last December 2020, the telematic presentation of the book 'The Secret Behind Your Screen' took place, which I have had the pleasure of illustrating. Its text, written by Abril Ronsisvalle Toniguzzo, was the winner of the IX Edition of Solidarity Stories Contest, convened by the Mapfre Guanarteme Foundation and the ULPGC. This book tells us the story of Luis or Itsmy, a very peculiar character who is responsible for delivering us all the messages and e-mails that we send. The story is available in two bilingual editions: Spanish-English and Spanish-French. All proceeds from its sale will go entirely to the Red Cross, and is available for sale in bookstores and at the Mapfre Guanarteme Foundation. Dejo por aquí algunos momentos maravillosos que me ha dejado este año la Feria del Libro de Las Palmas. He tenido la oportunidad de firmar ejemplares de "El Cazador de Palabras y otros duendes" así como presentarlo junto a Samy Bayala, escritora del texto, Sandra Franco, responsable del sello Alargalavida de Bilenio, y Mª Carmen Ramos, escritora y narradora oral. Muchas gracias a todos/as los/as que se pasaron por allí a darnos su apoyo y valorar nuestro trabajo, ya que hicieron posible que casi se agotaran las existencias del libro a la finalización de la feria.
I leave here some wonderful moments that the Book Fair of Las Palmas has left me this year. I have had the opportunity to sign copies of "The Word Hunter and other goblins" and to present it together with Samy Bayala, text writer, Sandra Franco, responsible for the editorial seal Alargalavida of Bilenio, and Mª Carmen Ramos, writer and oral narrator. Thank you very much to all those who came by to give us their support and value our work, since they made it possible to almost exhaust the book's stock at the end of the fair.
¡Vuelvo con muy buenas noticias! "El Cazador de Palabras" escrito por Samy Bayala e ilustrado por mí se presentará en la 31º Feria del Libro de Las Palmas de G.C. Esto ha sido posible gracias a Alargalavida y Bilenio Publicaciones, quienes han sacado este proyecto adelante. La presentación tendrá lugar en la Carpa Galletas Bandama (San Telmo) el próximo sábado a las 18:00h. ¡Están todos invitados! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm back with very good news! El pasado viernes 21 de septiembre, tuvo lugar la inauguración de la exposición colectiva "Érase una vez... Artistas Solidarios", en la que han participado los ilustradores de la colección Cuentos Solidarios, entre los que estamos mi amiga y compañera Gema Segundo y yo.
Agradecer a la Fundación Mapfre Guanarteme por este reconocimiento al importante rol del ilustrador en las publicaciones infantiles así como de dar visibilidad al trabajo solidario llevado a cabo con esta colección. También me gustaría dar las gracias a todos los familiares y amigos que estuvieron acompañándome en esta ocasión tan especial.
Para los que no han tenido la oportunidad de asistir, les animo a pasarse por la exposición que se mantendrá hasta el 2 de noviembre en horario de 10:00 a 13:00h y de 18:00 a 21:00h, en el Edificio Cultural Ponce de León (C/ Castillo, 6. Las Palmas de G.C.)
Last Friday, September 21, took place the inauguration of the collective exhibition "Once Upon a Time ... Supportive Artists", where the illustrators of the Cuentos Solidarios collection have participated, among which are my friend and companion Gema Segundo and I.
To thank the Mapfre Guanarteme Foundation for this recognition of the important role of the illustrator in children's publications and for give exposure to the solidarity work carried out with this collection. I would also like to thank all the relatives and friends who accompanied me on this special occasion.
For those who have not had the opportunity to attend, I encourage you to go through the exhibition that will remain until November 2 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Cultural Building Ponce de León (C / Castillo, 6. Las Palmas de GC)
El próximo 21 de septiembre a las 20:00h se inaugurará la exposición "Artistas Solidarios" en la que tengo el gusto de participar con las ilustraciones originales de "Wi", mi último libro. En ella se mostrarán las ilustraciones originales de todos los libros que componen la colección "Cuentos Solidarios" de la Fundación Mapfre Guanarteme y la Universidad de Las Palmas. Para los que no puedan asistir a la inauguración, podrán disfrutar de la exposición hasta el 2 de noviembre, en el edificio cultural Ponce de León, C/ Castillo, 6, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
On September 21st at 8:00 p.m., the exhibition "Artistas Solidarios" will be inaugurated, in which I am pleased to participate with the original illustrations of "Wi", my last book. It will show the original illustrations of all the books that compose the collection "Cuentos Solidarios" from the Mapfre Guanarteme Foundation and the University of Las Palmas. For those who cannot attend the opening, you can enjoy the exhibition until November 2nd, at the Ponce de León cultural building, C / Castillo, 6, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
El pasado 3 de mayo, tuve el placer de participar en el acto de entrega del cheque solidario del cuento "Wi", ganador de la V edición de Cuentos Solidarios de la Fundación Mapfre Guanarteme y la Universidad de Las Palmas de G.C. y del que soy ilustradora. El cheque, cuya cantidad fue recaudada a lo largo de este último año con las ventas del libro, fue entregado a las representantes del Proyecto Lugo de Cáritas, el cual ayuda a mujeres en situación de explotación sexual y sus familias. Es una gran satisfacción haber contribuido con mi granito de arena a esta buena causa. Les animo desde aquí a que participen en ella adquiriendo ejemplares de "Wi", a la venta en librerías. :)
Last 3rd of May, I had the pleasure of participating in the ceremony of delivery of the solidary cheque of the tale 'Wi', winner of the V edition of Solidary Tales of the Mapfre Guanarteme Foundation and the University of Las Palmas de GC which I have illustrated. The cheque, which amount has been collected with sales of the book over the past year, was handed to the representatives of Proyecto Lugo de Cáritas, which helps women in situation of sexual exploitation and their families. It's a great satisfaction having contributed my bit to this good cause. I encourage you to participate in it acquiring copies of "Wi", on sale in bookstores. 🙂
